Why do we do free seminars?![]() • We have too much information. In our workshops we respond directly to the specific material and issues that our students bring to class. The seminars are an oportunity to lay out some important foundation ideas and philosophy. Plus specific take-away exercises, assignments and suggestions. • Our workshops aren't cheap. The free seminars are one way to make sure we get the right students for us and for you to evaluate if we're the right teachers for you. • We get to mouth off. The seminars give us a chance to articulate some of our deeper ideas about creativity and process the latest information we've absorbed. We're constantly reading, watching and listening to books, movies and audio by others and finding ways to relate them to our creative process. • We can sell you stuff at a discount. We've created a number of amazingly-effective creative resources and the seminars are one way of getting the word out. We usually offer steep at-seminar discounts. Who needs it? You do if you're... • A sketch or improv artist who's tired of hiding behind wigs and characters and want to be yourself onstage. • A teacher who knows what to teach, but wants to learn how to teach. • Someone who's trying to make a one-person show and you're sick of looking at that pile of notes and hearing your friends tell you that 'you should reallly do a one-person show'.
• A standup who's being held back by your 'act' and wants to break through to a deeper level in your work. • A TV or screenwriter who's blocked and needs to get back in touch with your own voice and remember the reason you wanted to be a writer in the first place. • A working actor who's tired of waiting for a great script and want to develop your own material. • An executive or producer who has absolutely no desire to write or get onstage. Guess what - anytime you have to pitch an idea at a meeting you are onstage. Maybe you'd better learn some performance and presentation skills. • A musician who doesn't know what the hell to do between songs. • A creative person who doesn't ever get to explore your own creativity. • Anyone who's been in therapy too long and you're hungry for a new way to kick things loose. • Someone who's going through big life changes (jobs, relationships, etc.) and you need a way to process and redefine the New You.
