THE SUNDAY NIGHT SHOWS
UnCabaret is storied and loves stories. In our almost 25 years we’ve been seen/heard/loved on Amazon, Comedy Central, Sirius, NPR, audible.com etc. We’ve toured, produced spin-offs and web series. Been featured on The Today Show, This American Life, PBS and E!.
But the true heart of UnCabaret is the Sunday night show, now in it’s 25th year, hosted by UnCabaret Creator Beth Lapides.
Our original posse includes Bob Odenkirk, Patton Oswalt, Julia Sweeney, Kathy Griffin, Janeane Garofalo, Jeff Garlin, Taylor Negron, Andy Dick, Scott Thompson, Moon Zappa, Andy Kindler, Merrill Markoe, Margaret Cho, Greg Behrendt and Laura Kightlinger. We’ve also been thrilled by one of a kind performances by everyone from Roseanne, Sandra Bernhard, Judd Apatow, Tig Notaro, Carrie Fisher, Louis CK, Jon Stewart, Bill Maher, Michael Patrick King, John Riggi, Jill Soloway, Marc Maron, Jen Kirkman etc etc etc!
We have been in residence at some of the best venues in Los Angeles. In our latest incarnation, since January 2012, our Sunday show has been fortunate to call a beautiful, intimate showroom on the corner of First & Hope home in DTLA our home. It’s a bit of a secret room, and so worth the effort of finding.
Our current group of regulars is astoundingly talented and filled with voices you will want to have heard. Along with our OG friends who are with we have Alec Mapa, Julie Goldman, Baron Vaughn, Byron Bowers, Stephanie Allynne, Rebecca Corry, Justin Sayre, Erin Foley, Kira Soltanovich, Jackie Kashian, Del Shores, Lauren Weedman, Kelly Mantle etc etc.
When we moved into the new venue it was with the addition of Musical Director and Co-Producer Mitch Kaplan. Under his direction we’ve been thrilled to include musical acts such as Shelby Lynne, Terra Naomi, Sam Morrow, Phoebe Bridgers, Judith Owen, Magnolia Memoir, Dweezil Zappa, Allee Willis, Miss Coco Peru, Ruby Freidman, Doe Paoro, Garfunkle and Oates, SpaceCream, Missi Pyle etc etc.
The restaurant changed hands a few years ago and is now Au Lac, Plant Based Food, aka vegan cuisine.

Come for the comedy. Stay for the hugs.
There is some free street parking. More of it on those nights when Disney Hall and The Music Center, with whom we share the Cultural Corner of First and Hope, are dark.
$9 Valet Garage under venue. Pull into the driveway off First, before Hope. Take a left into the garage. When you leave the garage you walk up a flight of stairs or take the elevator into a Plaza. First and Hope is in the back corner. Yes, it is a little hidden. But that just keeps the riff raff away:)
We are happy to help you celebrate your birthday. We didn’t used to be corny like that, but lately, with everything, we like to light the candles and cheer you on. The band will play, you can bring a cake or not. If you are bringing a group let us know in advance and we can carve out a seating area for you. Yay you! That’s our feeling about it.
Any other question: firstname.lastname@example.org or 213-706-3630.
