Beth Lapides’ UnCabaret is the best alternative comedy experience in DTLA, each week showcasing storytellers of the comedy and musical kind. Although Columbus Day weekend is a pretty questionable holiday, our Columbus Day weekend show is unquestionably the most fun thing you can do on Sunday night in DTLA. Or even the whole freaking city of Los Angeles on Sunday night!

Justin Sayre A raconteur of the fabulous kind. A writer on 2 Broke Girls. The author of YA novel Husky. Instigator extraordinaire of The Meeting at Joe’s Pub in NYC. He’s the one you keep asking us… what’s his name, we love him!

Kira Soltanovich Kira has been on a roll at UnCab doing a new series of stories, inspired partly by being a mother to her won young children, about growing up as a child of Russian immigrants. You’ve never heard stories quite like these. Or at least we never have. And we’ve heard a lot of stories. A series regular for four seasons Girls Behaving Badly, you’ve also seen Kira on Jimmy Kimmel Live3rd Rock From The SunThe Tonight Show with Jay Leno and on the UnCabaret Amazon episodes. Kira hosts a popular weekly podcast about being a professional comedian as well as a parent, interviewing other comedians about how they raise their own children.

Matthew Patrick Davis Has a way of at once being cheerfully, almost perky and taking on some of the most difficult socio-political stuff. He is also the tallest performer to have graced the UnCabaret stage. Matthew is a versatile actor/musician/composer and you’ve seen him in The Sarah Silverman Program, Comedy Bang! Bang! and Community. He has bridged the gap between  The Kennedy Center and his in Coke commercials. That’s the kind of thing you can do when you are tall. He also has written a musical called The Compete (Abridged) History of America. That’s a tall order.

Laura Kightlinger  is the critically acclaimed writer The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman, SNL is somehow with drier than a dry martini and sillier than a Slinky. She’s also the author Quick Shots of False Hope, an actress and a producer Two Broke Girls, Will & Grace, Roseanne. Always thrilled to have our multi-talented great good friend join us at our Sunday show!

SpaceCream Founded by lead singer Savannah Pope, and it is her voice that this band is about. SpaceCream says they are a Glam/Prog Rock band but Savannah is also a soul singer born and bred in LA. She is a voice of here and now and yet somewhere else. An earth angel. She’s been hailed by fans as “Anne Wilson starring in Bowie’s edition of Rocky Horror Picture Show.”  SpaceCream won the gold medal at LA Battle for Vans Warped Tour at House of Blues Sunset. They’ve played all over Southern California, including sold out shows at the Viper Room and Troubadour. SpaceCream’s music is accessible yet complex, lending a voice to anyone who feels they were born on the wrong planet. We are crushing on SpaceCream and have invited them back for a stripped down acoustic set featuring Savannah. Get creamy with us.

“Progressively minded, musically accomplished…something akin to the spirit of early Queen.”  Powerplay Magazine
