we all have to deal with those voices in our heads - which are almost - but not always - negative. sometimes they guide us.

writers, as you know, also get these terrible voices in our heads as we sit down to write. the 'who do you think you're kidding?' voice - and you have to learn, just as you say here, to jump ahead of that fear, to find and seize a moment that feels truthful and go from there. Or, also as you say here, to figure out what is REALLY the source of that resistance - which is usually a problem in the material, something that you haven't solved yet, but just because you haven't yet doesn't mean you won't.
in fact, the only guarentee that you will fail is to give up.
