It isn't enough just to write anymore. We live in a world where writers are responsible for getting their own work out there. Many writers hire their own publicist when their books launch - but don't do enough to support them. Most performers don't hire a publicist when they launch their show - but don't want to, or know how to, promote themself.
"The top-notch marketing dude on earth!" - Sea Glassman, Producer

What makes Greg such a good consultant for entertainment projects?
He's wired. He's been online since 1994 with the launch of uncabaret.com, named Entertainment Weekly Top 10 Sites of the Year. He's built, designed and consulted on websites for Beth Lapides, Mr. Show, Julia Sweeney, Carol Leifer, The Other Network and others. He can make sure you don't have to spend too much to set up a basic website or optimize an existing site, advise you on whether to blog or not to blog, and gauge how much social media interaction you need on Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc.
He's press-savvy. Greg studied journalism at NYU and has worked both sides of the media buffet. He's sold stories as a freelancer, produced news for CBC's NY bureau and booked and produced a daily radio talk show, so he knows what makes a story the media wants to cover. He's written for Writers Digest, Premiere Magazine, Esquire, LA Weekly, FitYoga, LA Yoga etc. and has produced radio/TV/web news and cultural features for the CBC and NPR. He's also worked as a publicist and promoter placing stories with CNN, People, Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, Entertainment Weekly, flavorpill, The Onion, Suicide Girls etc.
He knows how to DIY. Greg learned producing and promotion in the non-profit downtown NY art world where he was a curator, producer and publicist for The Kitchen Center for Video, Music and Dance. He's been producing and promoting his own projects for over 20 years and knows how to achieve maximum impact on a minimal budget.
He's multi-media. Greg has worked in film, TV, radio, web, theater, stand-up, print and music. He believes artists and entertainers need to think of themselves as Integrated Media Platforms, or as we here at Un-Cabaret Multi-Media like to say, "IMP"s. Greg has successfully translated material from one medium to another and worked with artists who are launching projects across multiple platforms. He understand the different requirements and strengths of each medium - and how to make them work together to create a multi-media platform for you and your work.
He's produced hundreds of successful events. Un-Cabaret was a no-budget DIY production that turned into a runaway hit live show, TV show, CDs, podcast and radio series. He's also produced events with high-end cultural institutions and major music venues. He knows what makes an event work - and how to anticipate ways things can go wrong.
He knows how to reach, grow and sustain an audience. Un-Cabaret was sold out almost every Sunday for 7 years straight and, when the club closed, Greg found subsequent venues and kept the shows full and creatively vital for almost 15 years. He launched and sustained spoken word series, screening series and created many must-see festivals and one-time events.
He knows how to build a local following, mobilize a national audience and translate audiences from one medium to another.
He gets Hollywood. He's worked in 'the Biz' in various capacities for over 20 years, pitching, selling and producing projects at major film studios and premium cable networks. He knows a lot of people and tracks the latest changes and trends in the book, TV and film industries, from mainstream networks to indie films and the www.
