We lost something very important this week. And after we had resigned ourselves to it, found it zipped up in a special, hidden, ultra safe pocket. This Sunday, November 6, we celebrate by unzipping comedy, music, stories. Join Beth Lapides and her gifted guests as they light up this dark night of the first day of Daylight Savings Time.
Justin Sayre A raconteur of the fabulous kind. A writer on 2 Broke Girls. The author of YA novel Husky. Instigator extraordinaire of The Meeting at Joe’s Pub in NYC. He’s the one you keep asking us… what’s his name, we love him!
Liz Astrof is a funny, writer and producer (2 Broke Girls, Whitney, Last Man Standing, Raising Hope) who just won Best Comedy Pilot in the 2016 Independent Pilot Competition for Poor Todd. Liz has quite a story about friendship and texts and motherhood on deck. Excited to welcome her to UnCabaret.
Dave Ross is a stand-up comedian whose material is sometimes vulnerable and personal. Other times his comedy is loud, stupid and about butts. He tours hard and loves it. He’s performed at just about every festival, club, theater, bar, fire hall and bombed-out stone building that will have him. His sketch group WOMEN makes sketches for Comedy Central and IFC’s Comedy Crib. He hosts the podcast Terrified and used to co-host the Sex Nerd Sandra podcast, both on the Nerdist Network. He’s been on Comedy Central a bunch of times now, acting dumb on Tosh.0, telling a story on This Is Not Happening, and getting drunk on Drunk History.
Laura House has performed on HBO, NBC and Comedy Central, MTV’s Austin Stories, and appeared opposite Natalie Portman in the film Where the Heart Is. She’s a contributor to Comedy Film Nerds, and can be heard regularly on the David Feldman podcast and radio show which she is currently co-hosting with Jerry Stahl. She has worked on several books, including the well-reviewed True Tales of Lust and Love and her own memoir is forthcoming.
Carlie and Doni could not be more adorable in a bad girl sort of way. One of them is gay one of them is straight. They are BFFs and soul sisters, mining their lives as source material for their observational yet positive comedy that offers a unique perspective on the female experience.
