Beth Lapides hosts UnCabaret on Sunday, November 20 because if we weren’t laughing, we’d probably be crying. #catharsis #strongertogther #change #silverlining #itscomplicated!
John Riggi is one of our BFF’s and makes us laugh in some of our darkest hours. He is an Emmy award winning writer, producer and director. 30 Rock, The Larry Sanders Show, Will and Grace and The Comeback. His stand up was seen and given a big thumbs up on The Tonight show but John went for a bigger canvas and his performing is limited to pretty much UnCabaret now. You can listen to John on our podcast Life and Beth.
Sam Pancake is a whirling dervish of storytelling. You might recognize him from his appearances on Gilmore Girls, Where the Bears Are, Transparent, Will & Grace etc. Or know his from his extravaganzas with our friend Drew Droege. But you there is none of that that quite compares with hearing this southern boy get tall with a tale.

Matthew Patrick Davis has a way of at once being cheerfully, almost perky and taking on some of the most difficult socio-political stuff. He is also the tallest performer to have graced the UnCabaret stage. Matthew is a versatile actor/musician/composer and you’ve seen him in The Sarah Silverman Program, Comedy Bang! Bang! and Community. He has bridged the gap between The Kennedy Center and his in Coke commercials. That’s the kind of thing you can do when you are tall and have a tall smile. He also has written a musical called The Compete (Abridged) History of America. That’s a tall order.
SpaceCream is singer Savannah Pope. Savannah is a soul singer born and bred in LA. She is a voice of here and now and yet somewhere else. An earth angel. She’s been hailed by fans as “Anne Wilson starring in Bowie’s edition of Rocky Horror Picture Show.” SpaceCream won the gold medal at LA Battle for Vans Warped Tour at House of Blues Sunset. They’ve played all over Southern California, including sold out shows at the Viper Room and Troubadour. “Progressively minded, musically accomplished…something akin to the spirit of early Queen.” Powerplay Magazine.
Byron Bowers Master of the slow burn and thrilling to watch. Byron loves to tell a story, is playful, experimental, unloving and a risk taker. Can you tell we love Byron? One of the very few stand-up comedians to have appeared on Jimmy Kimmel, Byron has also toured nationally with Dave Chappelle, Hannibal Buress, Eric Andre and shared the spotlight at the Oddball Comedy Festival in 2013 with Louis CK, Jim Gaffigan and Sarah Silverman.
